I agree completely.

yup
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

I don't know Ming Da, but if you look at the picture below and the picture of the Baby I posted above...  They have some striking similarities.  The crackle finish on the trafo cover, the small identifier plate on the top of the cover, the gold knobs are exactly the same....  I suspect they are both made in the same factory in China.

PTP wiring is a good thing--if done properly.  This could be a good little amp!

I should have known you guys would bust on me for asking about SS.

My interest in the hybrid model is because I need to strike balance between power, cost and size.  If I don't sell the Thiels, I'll use them in an office or bedroom system.  The Thiels need more power than any tube amp I would buy for that system given my budget and also I need to minimize the number of components.  I was thinking that the CS2s+1501RC and a toshiba deck would be a decent sub 1K system.  Another issue is that the office system is likely to see many more hours than my home system and I don't want to be replacing power tube sets twice a year.

Anyone tried one of the hybrids (main interest is the 1501)?

Now you didn't ask that question with cost constraints ;)

I can totally see going hybrid in the case of the thiels.  In my experience, tubed amps just don't do very well with thiels.  Jim Thiel uses the new MF KW integrated at home (big power), which I think says it all.  I assume your Thiels are similar.

I don't see anything wrong with going hybrid.  Of course, you could sell the Thiels...  hehe but that's another day, another battle ;)

About JoLida.....
Great amps. great prices.

It's a bit of a shame that they are made in Tibet-bashing China.
