Title: Battery charger Hack
Post by: KLowe on June 14, 2006, 11:18:48 PM
Hey yall,
help me before I burn my house down.  I need to hack a battery charger to charge up some RC battery packs that I got in a deal from TS.com.  Problem is I dont have a charger for them (standard box with red and white wires).  I was gonna hack one of my other battery chargers and solder some alligator clips to the positive and negative wires from the charger.

Here is the question.  To charge a battery....do I need to reverse the polarity coming from the wall?  or run hot wire to red and negative to white?

shit, I have no clue.  I'm gonna hurt myself im sure.

any help?

Thanks,
Klowe  (getting ready for B-roo)

Suck it up and buy one.  You can get a good fast/trickle charger for around $20.  It will probably charge faster and switch to trickle when done so not to harm the batteries/burn down your house.

I don't know if this is the best place but they have some good deals... I got a fast charger + 4X9.6v300mAh batteries for around $50.

Radioshack didn't have the one I needed.  Went yesterday.  >:(
Just flat out forgot about the damn thing until yesterday.  Oh well.  Worse things could have happened.
Bonnaroo tonight ;D

Thanks all.
