Optical Mod SBM-1?
« on: June 22, 2004, 05:40:14 PM »
Okl, I've read the archives on this topic and found that some ppl were thinking of trying this mod, but no follow ups on whether it worked or not. Soooo, has anyone successfully done this mod themselves?

I've got a 7 pin > optical cable on the way but from what Ive seen from the pix, it doesn't look too robust. Is it possible to modify it with a sturdier optical cable?

I'm not sure about putting a sturdier optical cable on the 7pin.

The way I found was to add an optical transmitter to the 7pin, which would provide a toslink out instead.

I understood this to mean, plug the 7pin into the sbm-1 and plug your optical cable into the 7 pin.

BUT I haven't gotten around to trying yet. :(
