« on: July 30, 2004, 12:04:46 AM »
I just wanted to thank TS forum for all your help. Tuesday night I made my 1/st tape w/ my new rig that TS hepled me build and decide what equipement to buy. How else would I have learned how to make a RC battery pack for a UA5http://www.taperssection.com/reference/html/DIY_EdirolUA5Power/ or make my own mic cables and even use right angle connecters to do so http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=2401.0. On Tue I scored a pretty good sounded show to boot runnin' cards XY from my table. Next project is to build VU meter for my UA5 but I feel confident I can pull it off w/ all the info from TS. Thanks again.
By the way I recorded Hot Buttered Rum String Band On 7-27-04 @ SoHo in Santa Barbara 20' from stage LFOB from my table.
Peace

+T for the virgin show!!!  Mine wasn't that long ago either, and this has been a wonderful resourse.  GREAT people here... no question.

I do think taping is the reality of the business..it is also an impetus for artists to create studio CDs that are ART, not just another recording...    Fareed Haque  2-4-2005

Just wanted to thank the many people from TS.com that have offered suggestions, advice and tips, as well as those that sold me an AD-20, PS-2 and a carrying case  to get my gear started. Went out last night in Baltimore to try my first hand at taping with my NJB3 and came away with a fantastic sounding show (those Studio Project C4's are incredible!) from a local band KOE (Kinder of Evolution). Still have adjustments to make and mistakes to learn from, but the tapers from MD/DC/VA have all been very helpful and not stingy with their advice (or opinions). Looking forward to many years of fun taping great (and crappy) music....thanks! A special shout-out to Terry Watts of NC for putting up with me while I pestered him with question after question...Thanks Terry! +T
