Ok, I'm still pretty new to the taping game, and while I have a bit of wiring experience, I'm no electrical engineer
The laptop I want to power says it takes in 19.5V DC at 2.5A. How do you guys suggest I make/buy an exteral battery box?
I could make my own battery box to meet these requirements, but I'm worried about two things:
1. Where could I find an adaptor plug for a Dell, other than buying an AC adapter and cutting the end off?
2. When the external battery voltage starts to drop, will the laptop automatically switch over to the internal battey? or will it burn up trying to run off the lower voltage?
I also have an old 12V DC battery that powered a spotlight. Could I buy a cheap little power inverter and then run the stock power cord off of that? or will the modified sine curve from the inverter cause problems?
Sorry if anything here sounds dumb, but I'm afraid of screwing up my notebook, and I already did a search on the boards but couldn't really find anything.
