stealthing the tascam hd-p2
« on: September 18, 2006, 04:01:09 PM »
I've just purchased the hd-p2 advanced mod from Doug at Oade Bros. because of it's wonderful features. Does anyone have any tips/suggestions as to best stealth with this deck? ie Ways to get the deck into an arena.

If you plan on sneaking a HD-P2 into an arena, my suggestion is to sneak into the band's truck then hide yourself in one of thier road cases.  Unless you have a very large void in your crotchal region, I'd say forget it.  You could try to diguise it as your colostomy bag, be sure to buy some "fart spray" from your local Spencer gifts store.

A local Deadhead/taper told me how they used to use a chair to sneak in his old Nak deck, then ditch the chair once they were inside, but that seems a bit drastic.  You'll probably want a smaller recorder like the PMD-660 if you plan on stealthing.
Maybe a couple of small scratches, but thats because these mics are chick magnets.
Girls always up on Andy tryin to grab these mics, the scratches are from their wedding rings.

Forget my earlier suggestions, just bring Chuck Norris with you...

722
1.8" H x 8.2" W x 4.9" D

HD-P2
2.5" H x 10.25"W x 7.75"D

not quite as small, but im sure its still stealthable depending on how hardcore security is

I've seen guys at Dylan shows with v3>722 and batteries,  so if they can get that in, getting a hd-p2 in should not be that difficult depending on security

a true stealth jedi doesn't so easily reveal his tactics to the whole world.

qft.

For what it is worth I have stealthed a DA-P1 before.  It is possible.

A little over a week ago I snuck in my 140's a V3 and my JB3 with EXTERNAL batteries for the V3 and JB3.  NO GEAR BAG and nothing got crotched.

Use the force.
