Just curious what you guys use to cut the foam your using in your Pelican cases? I have been using scissors but the cuts are real jagged and rough. Girlfriend suggested shaping a piece of wire, heating it, and melting through the foam but seems like it would flame up rather than melt cleanly.

your g/f sounds pretty handy! though i'm not sure if that's a good solution or not, maybe try it on a spare piece of foam.
my pelican case came with the pick n pluck shit, and for parts where i wanted 1/2 height, i took a big section of foam, and gently sawed it in half using a very very sharp cutco knife. it came out kinda jagged but that side faces down and the good clean side faces up.

I had trouble cutting the foam too. But then I bought foam from pelican that was specifically made to fit my case so no cutting needed (assuming its a pelican) if not then try a exactoblade

My case is actually an old cigar box. Making it holds my Oktavas. Right now I just have trimmed down the foam that was in the Oktava case and it fits decent. Want something I feel a little better about though. May check on that Pelican foam. Did you buy it straight from them?

thats where I got it from and it might be the right choice b/c there small squares so you probably could get it to fit better without even cutting it ;)
