^^^ All Sony mics are pretty poor and not worth your time.  How much are you looking to spend?  I assume you're trying to keep it to the ~150 range, so see below....

Lots of mics sound good with that deck - the analog plays nicely with mics that to my ears are too bassy on digital machines.

Do you want an omni or a cardiod?  Most folks here like the various products of Church Audio (see retail space) for starter mics:

in omni:
CA-1
CAFS
CA-11
or
CA-14

The -14 is the best sounding but largest.  The CAFS are tiny.

in cardiod:
CA-11
CA-14

Personally in Church's cardiod flavors I like the CA-14 a *lot* more among samples I have heard.

soundprofessionals.com also sells a number of fine mics.  The SP-CMC-4 (aka AT U853) series mics are great, and have the advantage of switchable capsules.

Honestly, I always found that my Coresound binaurals with battery box sounded great with the D6.  You can probably find some of those mics used for a real nice price.

Mics: Schoeps MK4V, MK41V, MK5, MK22> CMC6, KCY 250/5, KC5, NBob; MBHO MBP603/KA200N, AT 3031, DPA 4061 w/ d:vice, Naiant X-X, AT 853c, shotgun, Nak300
Pres/Power: Aerco MP2, tinybox v2  [KCY], CA-UBB
Decks: Sound Devices MixPre 6, Zoom F8, M10, D50

"Lots of mics sound good with that deck - the analog plays nicely with mics that to my ears are too bassy on digital machines."

what do you mean? I though digital machines with any mic gives too weak or non bass. In fact I WANT very much bass so propably need a mic that gives hard heavy bass. like some recordings form the old days if u understand. I dont like todays clear but weak recordings. old times rock!

so...more opinions? suggestions? ..confusing this. ;D..u try and try..sometimes u think u have  found something but then u maybe dont :-\

sorry im not a PRO what is cardiod and omni:P, just need some  good mic and hopefully get it fast for concerts that cant be missed this summer

a link to some Bay auction or other would perhaps be helpful

most important perhaps IS that I want to come away from the digital sound as far as can go. I WANT rich bass sound nad loud crowd noise and guitars...evrything loud and natural ;D

I recommend that you read the "sticky" at the top of this thread to learn basic information about pickup patterns, etc.  The short version is an omni picks up 360 degrees of sound roughly evenly. A cardiod, as the name implies, has a pickup pattern that looks more like a heart, rejecting sound to its rear.

From your preferences it sounds like you want an omni mic, since that is the most "natural" sound and picks up exactly what you're hearing, and it picks up more room reflections and bass.

My experience with the D6 was that it attenuated bass somewhat, or at least, the recordings with omnidirectional mics had a more natural bass than they did when I moevd to DAT.  However, I only ran the deck with one kind of mics. Others' experiences may vary.

It sounds like you should scroll down to "Retail Space," look at Church Audio's entries, and put in an order by sending him a PM on this site.  There is no reason to buy from him on eBay since his prices here are better.
