Title: 2xAT853>>>single stereo mini - wiring help needed

I need to terminate two at853 mics into a single stereo mini connector.  I thought I had this figured out but something is not working.

Each mic has a pair of yellow wires, a pair of red wires and a shield. 

My understanding was that for these mics,  yellow= pin2 = +.

The yellow pair from one mic goes to the stereo mini tip, the yellow pair from the second mic goes to the stereo mini ring, and the red wires and shield from both mics are all ground to the stereo mini ground.

But it doesn't seem to work.   Do I have things backwards?

Yes, swap red and yellow.
