CD burning software?
« on: October 23, 2006, 01:00:15 PM »
I've been using Feurio for many years now, but I was wondering, what is the most popular CD burning software out there for writing cd's?  What do most people use?  Feurio has been good, but I sometimes have to work with WAV files at 48kHz, and Feurio has a hard time converting those to 44.1kHz without the top ending getting a little fuzzy-sounding.  I'd like to upgrade to something more professional perhaps.

As a side note, how about burning DVD's?  I download a few live DVD's now and then, and the process for burning compatible DVD's is even trickier.  Of course, it is not just as simple as dropping video and audio files onto a DVD.  Perhaps the CD burning software would also manage the proper DVD burning?

Thanks,
Bill

Nero.

I would suggest version 6.  They are up to Nero 7 now but it is a VERY bloated piece of software.  Nero 6 works real good and there are plugins for SHN, FLAC, ape, etc. to do converting/burning on the fly.

Second on Nero 6.

In the middle of a burn fest right now (catching up on all the discs I owe to various artists/mgt/venues).

So nice that you don't have to convert my FLAC's on my HD to WAV before burning.

To enable FLAC burning without converting get this little gem from Mike Wren:

It also installs FLAC playback in WinAMP. Make sure you have WinAMP and Nero installed BEFORE you install Mike Wren's FLAC package.
