Title: New lithium tech by Sony (99% charge in 30min)
Post by: su6oxone on August 11, 2009, 04:15:36 PM
And 4x the capacity of current battery technology  80% capacity retained after 2000 charge/discharge cycles.  Sounds good for tapers.  8)

Well what the heck do they mean by "gradually make its way to consumer electronic devices"? Why do rechargeable 3v AA but no 1.5V lithium-ion AA's exist?? What's preventing development of a fantastic battery that could incidentally could be used in 99% of portable electronics retroactive to the earliest AA applications? I would honestly hate to believe that people (especially here) would be comfortable knowing that tech. advancements in this sector are intentionally being held back by big business for the sake of a largely environmentalist taping community being forced to buy wasteful battery products.
