Title: DAT TCD D3 battery pack
Post by: robertmode on June 02, 2005, 02:56:38 PM
Hi!!!
Does anyone know how replace the existing DAT TCD D3 battery pack with new NiCads?

Is it possible????? :
"My suggestion to you would be to take a camcorder battery from an 8mm/Hi8
camera and make an adaptor plate using your BP-D3 to siphon the power of of
it. I use a Sony NP-98 battery which has 3000 mAh and it runs my D3 for many
hours."

Thanks
Robert

one of these days i'll figure this out. i have a d-3 that works fine, but only have the walwart for it. if the quoted camcorder runs on 9v then the batt pack should work fine. ****mah only refers to the amount of time it will out put a specified amperage, i think? or in other words, how long it power something. i.e. 3000 mah will last longer than say 2000 mah, all else being equall.

Check over at the oade board. I had several D3 recorders and someone over there was positive that the original battery pack could be rebuilt. I think you could apply just about any batt. pack rebuild instructions to this project. If you are unsure of your tech skills, get a junk D3 battery on ebay or here (you never know, someone here might just give you one) and try rebuilding it. Hope this helps...
