Battery Charger - 722
« on: May 29, 2007, 06:40:35 PM »
Was told by Cascade Media that Lenmar no longer makes the dual charger for batteries for the 722. Does anyone have a recommendation for a different charger.

Have you thought to ask Frank at Cascade?  That is where I would start.  Next, try all the battery sellers to see what they offer.  Does this make sense??    8)

PS - I am thinking of using some LiIon batteries I have from my laptop.  They have 14.4 volts in them.  The laptop will charge them and all I need a a couple of connectors to couple them in parallel and I am good to go.  I wonder if anyone is doing that kind of external battery pack?  Seems logical to me.  YMMV

Looks like a few places might have some NOS Lenmar dual chargers:

I don't think I have ever dealt with any of these companies.

I bought a 7000mA battery for a 722 with a charger which works on wall current 110/220 plus 12 volts DC.  If you would like I can go back through my checking account and fine the seller.  The battery charges; I have not yet used it.    8)

I picked this one up from B&H.  Haven't used it yet, but it has some pretty nice "smart" charger features.

hmmm, bummer about the Lenmar, I didnt realize it was discontinued :( I have that Lenmar Dual-Charger that is guess is a 'smart charger'. I mainly use the 722 as the charger tho since it charges at 1000mah/hr compared to the Lenmar, which only charges at 650mah/hr :) I LOVE that Lenmar duo charger tho. Teddy GAVE it to me along with a 3000mah sony battery when I bought my PB AR-7+RM-Deluxe from him ;D Great deal IMO :)

So I can recharge 3 batts at once if I HAVE to if the 722 isnt in use :) plus, I seem to trust the 722's charger the most for some reason, even tho the lenmar charger has never let me down :) The dual-charger saves me ASS at festivals tho 8) if I can find AC, I can have 2 fully charged batts in about 6-8 hrs MAX :) Those superfast chargers do look sweet tho!

if anyone is still looking for the lenmar charger - you may be able to get it from them directly.

I lost the base to my charger- and borrowed a friends for the time being.
But recently I attended the CES show in las vegas and saw lenmar. met a nice lady and she offered to check the warehouse for me when she got back since i just needed the base.

well she wound up sending me a whole unit - base/plug/car charger - for $35 shipped

That was a good deal.  Will she do that for me, too?

After some recent trouble with charging on my 722, I went to find the Impact UF-C30 and found that it has been replaced with the Pearstone UF-C30. Did Pearstone buy Impact? Any other chargers to consider? I have 2 of the Lenmar dual chargers, but they are pretty slow.

Small headsup. The internal clock runs from a small battery in the 722. This is only charged when using external power connected to the 7xx. Never from battery.

Symptom is that the box forgets date and time.

For an older box the internal battery could be dead. Change is not expensive, uses simple 1.5V AA battery, but somewhat fickly as the long threaded bolts are just a tad too short. It is described on the SD site.

Thanks Gunnar. Internal battery is not dead and looks like all chargers are working.
