Greetings,
Yesterday on set, my 480b preamp developed a rattle sounding like a screw has come loose inside. Preamp still works, but the loose screw hit something during a take and caused an issue.
Anyone have experience taking the electronics out the tube?. There's a set screw at the bottom but looks like you have to pop something off on top to get the guts to slide out.
Any help would be appreciated..

Undo the screw at the lower end and you will be able to slide the electrinics out of the outer body

Nothing else needs to be taken off? Will the electronics come out the XLR side or the mic connection side?

Thats it....dont even need to take the screw out all the way....at least i didnt on my 460'S. The electronics will exit out of the xlr end

Will give a try when I get back to Set on Monday.. Hope it's that simple and the 480b didn't change!
Thx
