Would I be able to use this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110477894873&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WXI7&GUID=ae2da14611f0a0b58332d0c2fffd8abc&itemid=110477894873&ff4=263602_263622
in conjunction with iProRecorder:

to plug into a soundboard to get a SBD feed?

I ask because I tape with CA-14 >CA9100 >iRiver and with some bands I tape they are really supportive and I'd like to increase the quality a bit for those bands.

The new Blue Mikey which is due in late March and Blue's iPhone App or Fire.  Supposed to sound pretty good and a lot easier to stealth than any recorder.

Most probably, the Ebay description is wrong. IIUC, that's not an input cable, but rather analog-out from the Iphone. It's meant to feed the music stream from the Iphone to an Alpine car stereo.

Anyway, I don't see any reason why an iPhone should be any better than your existing combo. Or would you like to tape the SBD in addition, and sync the two sources in post? In that case, the line adapter that mblindsey linked would probably be just as good.

The suspense was killing me.  I already have R-44/R-09HR/D8, so I made the completely unnecessary purchase of the Line-In iPod dock connector that I linked to a few posts back ($44.40 USD, paypal/shipped).  Apparently, you can make these for about 25-30% of that price...but, there is time/soldering really tiny joints in that path.

I have a set of CA-11's/9100 on the way.  When they arrive, I'll do some rough tests using the line-in of the iPod/R-09HR/D8.  I have some rough idea what will be best, but we'll see if any difference really matters for new tapers.  In other words, I'll try to answer the question - "If I have an iPod, and I really want to get started taping, can I buy a Church set up and an iPod Line-in dock connector as a workable intro rig?"  The iPod I'll be testing with is a 30GB Video with Rockbox.

Until then!

Bump. Did anyone manage to find or make a line in dock adapter ?

As mentioned a few posts back, I have ordered a line-in dock adapter for the iPod  (sorry for the thread jack - the subject clearly says "iPhone").  I'm not certain if the dock connector on the 30GB video iPod I have is the same as the iPhone/iPod Touch.  Anyway, I don't have it yet.  When it comes, I'll test it out.

In the meantime, if anyone knows if the dock connectors are the same on the models I just mentioned...let me know.  I think I can beg/borrow/steal an iPhone/iPod Touch to test the connector I have ordered.
