Looking for cable suggestions

(1/1)

mattb:
I have some Neutrik XLR ends, and I want to make some long (15' or 20') cables. Now, I'm not a "cable snob" but I want something decent, but I also want these to be relativley thin and flexible and not too expensive.

I know there's that new stuff that's really small (what's it called again?), but so far it's only available in white, right? And probably expensive too. Since my rig isn't the fanciest, I probably don't need super high-end cable.

I'm wondering if there's something with relativley low impedence that's thin, flexible, and black. Is there such a thing available in (relative) bulk? Being resistent to interference would also be a plus because these longer runs may be around lights and power cords.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

canare star quad, its only about 33 cents a foot, and if youre not going silver, thats prolly your best bet :)

for even a smaller footprint, theres a canare mini-star quad too ;)

theres tons of info on it in the archival section ;)

twatts (pants are so over-rated...):
Canare star-quad.  Best band for buck.  Very good cable.  Lots of folks here can custom-make those for you (like me).

The AM Hyper Conductors are the thin white ones you're thinking about.

Thanks. +T's to you both. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron, so I'll be making these myself.
What vender would you recommend for Star Quad and/or Mini Quad?

mattb:
Well, despite the bad press they've been getting I just ordered 50' of mini Star Quad from Markertek.
Using Google, I found a couple of other random places with Start Quad, but they were all ore and some looked kind of shady.
Hopefully they will send the right stuff!
