DAT Tape repair help

Hi Gang
 I have dat dds tape that came out of its shell, the tape did not slice at all but due to the plastic cover on the shell i can just rewind the spindle,can anyone please help me on this one.   No more DDS tapes for sure and im planning on getting the R9 soon so i can retire my t100
