Countryman E6 wire config. Help needed.
« on: September 04, 2007, 12:07:11 AM »
I have a countryman E6 mic that terminates into a trs mini 1/8 inch connector.  There seems to be only two wires in this cable.  A shield, and a white.  Im trying to figure out how to wire this.  There seems to be some sort of device soldered to the tip and the sleeve connecting the two.   Im not sure, but Im taking a guess that I solder the white to the ring and shield to the sleeve?  Can anyone help me with this?

A shure body pack that is 3.5 mm input? thats very strange I have never seen one before but I would assume it would be Ring for mic and tip for line and ground for ground :) the tip might have to be shorted to ground or a resistor to ground might be needed you should contact shure..

Sorry guys.

Its a sennheiser ew300.   It looks like there is a resister soldered between the tip and the sleeve.  Basically Im just trying to fix this.  It got broken and Im trying to fix it instead of paying for someone to fix it.

Thanks for you help guys.

Take Care
Mike

Thanks guys.

This is what I got, and just to make sure so I dont ruin the thing.

I solder the sleeve to the sleeve and the white cable to the tip, and then jumper the tip to the ring?

3.5 mm plug

Sleeve = S
Tip = W
Jumper ring to tip
5V Zener Diode
+ to tip
- to sleeve

Thanks for helping me.
