Garaj Mahal is open to anything.  You can set up onstage, SBD, FOB, anywhere, as well as video.  They are incredibly nice guys.

Now I know for sure that YMSB is not video friendly.

Neither is Clutch.

Don't forget about GWAR!

I think they are an anything goes band.

Note: You might want to use an underwater housing for your camera to keep the blood and jizz off  :P

and TMBG at a show once mentioned (after seeing my audio rig) next time I should bring the video rig.  However I don't think they have an officially policy for audio or video.  It wasn't easy to get my audio rig in.  But they did allow it.

gwar is insane, i'd like to tape them, but i'm a little afraid to go to one of their shows, let alone bring in my rig.

Slint are both audio and video friendly on their upcoming re-union tour.

To quote David Pajo... "Tapeth on! unless the venue has rules about that, no one minds personal recording."

i'll be in detroit.  probably shooting video from the balcony.  i'll probably run my mics from the balcony right above the soundboard, and i usually put my camera right beside my mics.  if you're interested in a 3 cam mix, i'm interested as well.  usually if i just keep a wide angle so i can get everything.  if you guys were close, and me in the back with the wide shot, i bet we can make a pretty sweet 3 cam mix.

sounds good.  that should turn out to be a great video if it all comes together.

i shot a grandaddy video from the balcony and then had a pro cam on the floor at st. andrews, it came out great.

nice. i know that my buddy has done some qotsa vids before and they were okayed by the band... so i am hoping we have the same type of carte blanche this time. if not... stealth it is.

i'm pretty sure we won't have a problem.  but if we do i'm sure i can easily get my camera in with my audio gear.  running stealth video from the balcony will be super easy for me if need be.

I have tickets for the Detroit QOTSA show, too.  I'll be bringing 2 or 3 camcorders, two of them are 3 CCD and the other is a regular digital 8mm.
I can run 2 cameras at once, but can probably use some help with the 3rd camera.
Might as well try for a 5 camera mix, eh?
