anyone using one of these? i got one for pretty cheap and it's a huge sucka :o i can see where this would be a great clamp for balcony rails, but not too sure on top of a stand. or is it?
-
I say they are too big and heavy for clamping to stands but others will tell you different. I bought one a long time ago for balcony clamping and stuff like that but I never use it to clamps to stands.
-
It's the only clamp I currently own, and I think it's great. I mostly use to to clamp to solid things, like a balcony, or bar table, but I have used it several times to clamp to a stand with no problems.
-
i also own one of these and find that it is really good on large objects, but its fine on a stand too, never any problems

i use mine for clamping to fixed objects. have a smaler one I use for stands... Scott Brown sold me on this clamp. It is, as he told me, the perfect clamp for the rail on the balcony at the beacon. Works like a charm.

I agree with heath, I have both the bogen/extension arm for most clampling and the rowi for the top of high stands (taller than say ~9 ft.)

another thing I should point out. with the superclamp, it is very easy to clamp an umbrella to your stand. I've done this a few times, and no messing around with duct tape or anything :)

I use my super clamp all the time to clamp to kennedy's stand with the TL's on it

i do the same, but i also have the umbrella piece that bogen makes to make it very easy to hold an umbrella on a stand
