Here are a few samples of the CK-40 & Busman modded CK-1's (CK-1b's as they have been dubbed). The recording was made almost a month ago now... been real busy, then it took me a while to figure out Ardour still has a few bugs when exporting regions... but finally got them all exported and ready for you to check out.
I was about 20-25 feet center front of the stage (in front of the board actually). The room has very low ceilings, but is a nice space with carpeted floors. Equipment was CK-40 / CK-1b's > Edirol R-4 w/ Busman T-mods > MONOX4 > 24/48 WAV > Ardour > 16/44.1 w/ Shaped Noise dithering WAV > Ogg & Flac.
The CK-1b's had the hyper caps on, probably the wrong caps for the room, but that is what I had on so there you go. I just got my sub-card (wide card) caps from Chris this week and will be using them tonight at Lotus in Philly, so we will see how they sound there. I will also make sure to use them the next time I record Los Manatees at The Sandtrap.
The CK-40 was set to cardioid in X-Y... I recorded another night using the CK-40 set figure 8's (blumlein) and will post a sample from that night later.
