The other night I tried a Canon SX600HS with a Nikon Coolpix S6800 at the show.
The Canon SX600HS worked great .The batteries last forever and the videos came out great with no overload and distortion with the sound. To bad the sound is mono only.
The Nikon Coolpix S6800 took great photos and crisp video. The sound was a different story which was overloaded with distortion. The sound is stereo on this camera.
Maybe there is a level control in a hidden menu. The battery quit around the end of the show about 3 songs before the end of a 2 hours and 30 plus minute show.
The both camera zooms were great from where I was sitting in the XL Center in Hartford CT in section 104 row G in seat 3.
I like some help on looking for a camera like these with stereo sound onboard .About the same size of these point and shoots.
Thanks an advance...

You might consider how "stereo" the recording will be when the mics are two omnis a few inches apart, as they will be on any camera I've seen.

Maybe research "rival" cameras to see if one of them suits you better.

Thanks .I will look that those models. The Nikon has to go back to the store anyway because of the lens is making a clunk sound as it zooms out. This is the second one of this model. The first one had a green tinge in the photos and video. The sound was overloaded on that one to.
I'll check the Canons out first.

Why the concern about audio recording capability? These little cameras weren't designed with concert audio in mind. A cheap Zoom-like recording device will record much better audio than you'll ever get with the on board mics. Get a simple external mic / recorder setup and you'll get even better audio.

I got an audio setup already.I'm just looking for a camera small enough to shoot video with.I not going to get in with my Sony camcorder.
