re sony m10 on/off not responding?
« on: January 21, 2018, 05:16:04 AM »
Hi
the power on/off button on my sony m10 is not responding.
used to take various attempts to switch on/off and now not switching on.

does someone know if it is a known issue and if there is someone on board in Europe able to check it out against payment obviously?

I have one and it is slow to respond when turning off sometimes. On the one occasion that it failed completely I ended up pulling out the batteries.

It's one of the M10's vulnerable areas. Probably dirt/dust. Get some switch cleaner and spray it. Alternatively, a few drops of surgical spirit.  Then work it back and forward. Best of luck.

i had one at one time that the spring behind the switch wore out.It still turned on but also would turn off easily if not gaffed into place.

You can also turn it on by plugging in the USB, and then leaving it on hold till you want to use it.

Mine stopped worked and I was doing that--but then it started again, so the suggestions above that it's a little mechanical thing are probably correct.
