Title: Shielded RCA > mini-plug protect against TV interference?
Post by: Ultfris101 on November 08, 2012, 10:21:39 AM
In October I used a factory 6ft RCA > mini-plug cable to record some FM broadcasts. Sounded really good but I noticed a constant but inaudible high frequency was picked up which I've seen before and most likely was picked up from a TV near my stereo. I tried the cable alone and then another factory made extension to get the recorder further away from TV and power sources but that didn't make a difference (didn't really think it would)

I don't do this often and for the moment can't easily relocate my receiver or TV. I'm wondering if a shielded RCA > mini-plug cable might prevent this?

thanks for the info. pretty sure it's going to be 15.7kHz but i'll check.  I probably have more important things to worry about right now. Maybe someday. I learned something tho.
