For the last couple of months I have been putting together a small HT setup. I'm trying now to incorporate my playback into it as well so I can cut back on some speakers. I'll try and post some pictures this weekend.
so far:
Vizio GV47FL -- HDTV
Toshiba HD-A30 -- HD DVD player
Sony STR-DA3000es -- receiver (will be selling this soon to upgrade -- looking at Pioneer VSX-90TXV 7.1)
Bowers & Wilkens 604s2 -- fronts
Bowers & Wilkens cc6 -- center channel
no idea about rears yet...maybe either 601's or 602's (probably the 601's on stands) and when I get in a house I'll pick up the DS-6's for sides.
suggestions or will I be happy for a while with this?

Looks good to me, although I'd change out that Yamaha for an Onkyo. ;)
But seriously, that sounds like a kick-ass system.

the pioneer for an Onkyo? Which do you suggest?
I haven't even hooked the Sony up yet for HT..strictly playback now. Should I go ahead as planned and get rid of it anyway?

I have the Onkyo 605 - great receiver on a budget. Does 7.1, HDMI upconversion, and will decode TrueHD signals from your A30. You can check out all the specs here:

If you're happy with the Sony for now it's not a bad receiver, you could definitely continue using it.

7.1 is complete and total overkill. especially considering your room. i can understand 5.1 :)

I demoed the 600S3 and the 601S3 for a while before i ultimately decided on the 600S3. This was for front channel stereo playback. The 601s were all over the place and the 600s were much more consistent. I did not try them out as a rear pair so YMMV.

I won't actually need 7.1 until I get in a house. I'm gonna switch some stuff around and give it a listen. I'll use these Bose speakers I have for rears for the time being.
