Wavelab 5.0 (Dual Mono Files, Inversion, Rendering)
« on: April 14, 2006, 02:39:37 PM »
So, I think I've figured this out. I'd love some feedback....

First of all, I'm working with 24/96 mono wav files made on a 744t. Files are set to split at 1GB. Also, channels 3+4 were digital from a V3 with the inverted phase issue ( http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=61623.0 ).

Here are the channels:

01 - moe2006-03-17_set2_02_u89i_L.wav
02 - moe2006-03-17_set2_02_u89i_R.wav
03 - moe2006-03-17_set2_02_mk41_L.wav
04 - moe2006-03-17_set2_02_mk41_R.wav

The files listed above are the end of the 2nd set and encore, so are only about 768MB each. I was trying to invert and render channels 3+4 into 1 file using the Audio Montage feature, but kept getting the 2GB file limit message. I have Wavelab 5.0 set up for 24bit temporary files. Couldn't figure it out.

...Then I started thinking about the enable opening of 'Dual Mono Files' feature. So, instead of starting a new Audio Montage, I just went Open>Wave, highlighted the 2 files  (3+4) and, bam, they both opened.

Next, I used the Master Section Tool, to invert and render the 2 files into 1. It looks like everything worked.

I opened the newly rendered/inverted file along side of the original channels 3+4. When played, there was dead silence. I take this to mean that Everything was done correctly because the files completely negate each other.

Anyway, I was gonna post some stuff about doing a Matrix, but I have to go to work.
