VSA vr3's ?
« on: March 12, 2005, 03:30:04 PM »
I just wanted to get some opinions on these. I know you guys like the VR4's and VR4jr's but what about the vr3's? From what I've read it seems like folks like the vr2's over these. Thanks.

on audiogon now.......older model, but specs look nice.
I've never heard them, so I can't say much else.

A friend of mine has a pair - very nice.  A small step down from the VR4's.  I believe they used the same mid/high compartment as the VR4, but a different bass (a single 10" vs. dual 8").  Oddly enough, the biggest difference I heard was the bass - not quite as tight as the VR4, a little boomy, but they were also in different rooms and that can have a major influence on the bass.  I think he paid $700-750 used for his last summer.  At that price it was a no-brainer.

Damn ... that's what I paid for my VR1s (like new).
Out of the game … for now?

I think that's about what I would expect the difference in 2 8" subs vs. 1 10" sub to sound like.... sounds pretty reasonable
