Inconspicuous successor for my IRiver H120
« on: June 01, 2017, 04:20:02 PM »
Hi,

I still use my IRiver H120 with Rockbox for recording concerts.
I also have Olympus LS-12 but this is hard to get gear in because of security reasons.
To get the IRiver in is no problem, because it looks like a mp3 player. All other recording devices with build in mics have no chance here.

So is there any inconspicuous recording Device?

I use Church Audio Ca14 with Uglybox.

Thanks in advice!

I'm also in this boat. Been using a Tascam DR-05 for years, but I'm a little worried about how conspicuous it is. Wish the M10s weren't so much...

I think even sony m10 does not look like a mp3player because of the build in microphones. Is there really no other choice?

I've never had security question an M10 when I say "mp3 player," FWIW.

There's this little guy:

Looks like a USB flash drive; has line in recording.

The Hooke Verse device - see http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=172222.0 - looks like a fairly normal bluetooth headset and records to a mobile phone, so it should be admissible in any venue.  However, there seems to be an issue with its ability to handle high levels in rock concerts.

Grabbed one of these for shits and giggles. I'm curious. Also managed to get an M10 for a pretty good price too
