Title: Sound Professionals battery box - bass roll-off question
Post by: eltimbomofo on June 25, 2014, 04:18:57 PM
Just received my SP-SPSB-11 battery box today.    Just wondering how to set the 8 switches inside. It is advertised to be able to set 7 frequencies of bass roll off.  Not sure if one is for"off" or what the deal is.  Im planning on not using bass roll-off for the show im taping tonight and would like to make sure its set off.

Thanks.

Unfortunately the figures published by Sound Pro's are only correct if your recorder's input impedance is 10 Kohms. If your input has another impedance, let's call it X, you would have to multiply the listed roll offs by 10/X to get the correct roll off. They really are not being honest in not explaining this.

This makes things pretty complicated. It's better to do roll offs in post anyway because there is no danger of rolling off more bass than you need to.
