Title: PC Recording / Minimum Specifications
Post by: mfisch on April 11, 2005, 02:53:26 PM
Im on the edirol page ...

The UA gear indicates a processor in the 600mhz minimum.
The FA gear indicates a processor in the 2ghz range.

Are they just bullshitting me or does firewire really use that much more juice? Id like to use a 500mhz embedded transmeta board, but I'll buy a new portable rig if necessary.

Im looking to record 2 channels at 24/96, but Id like to spec for at least 5 channels up to 24/192.

I plan to record my w64's onto an attached usb mass storage device (this will use CPU too, but I can account for that with known bandwidth-->cpu benchmarks).

Does anyone have some benchmarks they can bestow on me?
