raising levels with audacity
« on: August 06, 2006, 02:17:45 PM »
I don't usually like to do too much to my .wav files after recording; I guess I'm a minimalist. My ritual is to check levels in post with audacity to ensure there isn't any clipping and then split into tracks with CD Wave.

I recorded a band Friday night but I set my levels very conservatively. I'd like to raise the levels 3 db with audacity.

Should I highlight the entire .wav file and then amplify by 3 db or do I simply slide the gain +3 db to add 3 db of gain and save?
