Guys,
I'm cleaning out my taping closet and have several old eco-charge batteries that are probably on the order of 7 to 8 years old. They will no longer hold a charge. However I do really like the molded top they put on there which has the XLR connectors. My current SLAs are a little more home brew and I'd like to somehow take that molded top from the eco-charges and reuse these on newer 6v SLAs.
Is there a safe way to take the molded top off these eco-charge batteries? I've been trying to shove a flat head screw driver in there but don't want to apply too much force and crack the case. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I actually did this last year and posted a how-to on it in the archive: http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=119878.0
Have fun!

Wow, nice to know. Mine still hold a charge for now, getting old though. Nice to have another option.

Thats awsome. I just charged up my bp-50 that is about 7 years old and I am wondering how long it is going to last this weekend for a 4 day festival. No fear I have can charge it if I need to. This is great if I find that it will not hold a charge. Thanks.
