Title: home theatre flush-mounted ceiling speakers?
Post by: gewwang on November 13, 2003, 01:07:49 PM
My new house is close to drywall stage so I'm starting to do some research on home theatre. The family room has a 48"X48" TV nitch above the fireplace for the flat panel/plasma and my arcam avr1000 integrated receiver (might be able to upgrade this unit to match new speakers) but no room on the sides for floor speakers. So for the pre-wire session the other day, I locked myself into pre-wires in the ceiling for the fronts and rears with the room being 15 ' wide X 17' long, 10' ceiling and carpeted. I guess my next step is to see if anyone has recommendations on ceiling speakers and a powered sub. Here's a picture of the TV nitch where everything but the rears will go.

The sonance inwalls sound pretty good and the tweeters pivot.

Not sure if it'll fit your application, but have you considered the Maggie home theater (http://www.magnepan.com/1-800-474-1646/hometheater.html) setup?  Just a thought, can't help with the rest.
