I might be stuck on the lawn in ATL tommorrow and i have never taped from that far back before.
What would be the best stereo config for this.
i will be rinning one or the other:
483s > v3 > dmod ua5 > laptop
or
391s > dmod ua5 > laptop
-
IMO 483s>
-
But what mic config.
-
from the lawn, run hypers...
-
everybody likes din with hypers.. i don't disagree.
-
Thats what i was thinking. That or NOS.
At about 11'.
-
DIN, 17 cm depending on how far back you are. I have heard some use the nutter setup on the lawn and just aim at the stacks...kind of a modified DIN
-
I think im going to be with you in the lawn. ill be running 483's>DMIC-20(todmod)>M1
-
not xy? 90d 0cm ?
-
who ya tapin?? if its phish, ya not gonna be tapin from anywhere but section... 8)
-
whys that bean? did phish only allow taping with a tapers ticket?
-
NOS with hypers would be too wide.
-
There were guys at alpine and creek taping from the lawn. No one checked for taper's any nights that I went through.
-
why not 483 (DIN)>v3>laptop
-
I ended up in the section so i didnt have to worry about the lawn.
-
yay

The way I understand the "Nutter" (thank god this is not Team Latenight or we may have some misunderstandings!) is that you basically aim the mics on the outside edges of the stacks...becomes a modified DIN without nearly as much angle in the setup

Nice description. I'm not sure I've conveyed this well at times.

Never have truer words been uttered!

Ya Marc still points to the outside of the stacks similar to the way we use to do w/ guns for the dead. It works. good mics get good sound and the image is dependant on the proximity to the stage and the angle.
