Im curious how technically feasable this is? Id love to run akg sub/wide cards if so.

I've been looking for another CK8 for a while and keep running across these while searching. I assume they simply cut the barrels to shorten them...

agree. This does seem like a professionally done job, but why not just use a Sennheiser short gun designed for this?
OTH- this seller obviously has dozens of microphones for sale and hopefully knows his shit.

Yeah, chopping is crazy.Even a seasoned hacker like myself would not do that!!!
On the other hand, those have a regular CK1 capsule inside.  If they are cheap enough, buy them and take the CK1 out.  That's hacking ...

So basically its just a ck1 with a small amount of shotgun tubing infront of it? Id be hacking off another 3 inches from the back side up to threading screw anyway to fit a60’s>480’s/460’s

That is my impression.   I've got ck9 tubes.  I haven't actually taken the capsule out to check.I bought three of these.  Really long tubes, come in a bag.  Never deployed.

Thats the reason Im so curious. He has some other interesting gear for sale and states that these were proffesionally customized and they are a “wide cardioid polar pattern”. Just want to hear them really. Like every other microphone in existence.

this guy has been trying to sell these for AT LEAST 3 years...not sure of why the mod would be done but i doubt it will have the properties of  a wide/sub cardioid if that is what you are after.

I'd be very skeptical about this!
