radioShark > WAV > ???
« on: January 27, 2006, 05:42:36 PM »
I got the Griffin Technologies Radioshark (www.griffintechnology.com/products/radioshark/)for Christmas (check it out if you like to record straight from the radio, I'm piling up a lot of World Cafe's and WNCW's Tower of Song!), but I have no idea what a ggod program to use to splice it up is.  I have been using the CD Wave program from etree (http://etree.org/cdwave.html) and then encoding at FLAC 8 and aligning on sector boundaries.  Is that a good route to go or could someone suggest a better, clean method.  Thanks in advance.

CD Wave is your best bet.  but do a google search for it, and download the most recent version.  the one on etree's page is not the most up-to-date one.
and, the advantage of CD Wave is that it will always cut on sector boundaries, so no need to check that box when encoding, and no need to worry about it.  Alternatively, you can use CD Wave to save directly to FLAC.
