x/y...ORTF for actives AK40/50 Nuemann....a great idea
« on: November 12, 2004, 09:23:04 PM »
I had my gig bag stolen recently at a show and it had my mini-ortf bar for use with the 40/50 caps in it.....Nuemann doesn't sell them separately, only as a pair with the x/y....The idea, Anyone out there needing the x/y bar wanna split a complete new set?  That way you don't have to double up....

                                            let me know....

Hi Walt!!!!!!

Anyway for ortf and din Robert Kwon makes bars similiar to the schoeps stcg ortf bar.... Cascade Media should carry them, the "Kown Bars" are very well built.

Or you can buy a Vark and use that

I've been hearing that since June, and as far as I can tell they still don't have 'em. Not that you could actually find anything on their website anyway.

I looked under "Microphone Accessories" -  nothing. Searched for "Kwon", "Kwonbar", and "Kwon Bar" - zilch. I know they have the Schoeps Kwon bars...but good luck finding them on the site.

Got word from Robert that Cascade should have the Neumann DIN, NOS, and DINa bars tomorrow. Can't wait...ordering this DIN and NOS as soon as I see 'em on the site.

When the hell did you get MBHO actives? Still got the TLs?

Hey All,
so I just received a very large shipment of DIN/DINA/NOS bars for Neumann and MBHO active systems.   These probably wont be up on the website unit the end of the week so gimme a call if you want to order.

The wait is finally over!!!

Just a little update to add to Frank's post above.

I just got off the phone with him a few minutes ago and placed my order for a DIN and NOS bar. I've ordered from Cascade before online, but having now spoke with him on the phone...I'm 2 for 2 in the "Excellent Customer Service" category. If only all retailers/companies were as good as Cascade and Grace Design...

+T to Frank  (anybody notice how he and Mike Grace have the highest tickets-to-post ratio on here. There' a reason for that...)

     Yo...

Frank emailed me and let me know the Kwon goodies ( for Nuemann) are in stock not listed on site....But with Kwon I'll need the little Schoeps shockmount...

What I've done the past year or so ....I pretty much reserve the 40caps for small rooms, or up close usually X/y...I say usually, because we stealthed Coventry up front DFC ( pretty sure we were the closest rig)  I ran x/y the first day and 110(ORTF) the 2nd day.....Day 2 is AMAZING sounding...Day one was too boomy....My theory is one of the caps got bumped downward while trying to force windscreens on the mini-x/y bar Day 1....

For 110, I use the Vark bar with the Nueman mounts.....I carry a protractor in my bag, and just line up the center of the mic bodies on 110, using a spacer so the bodies are right on top of each other in the rear..........Got sick of toting around those big ass AT shockmounts...
