Mic/Preamp A-D advice for JB3
« on: December 15, 2004, 04:39:07 PM »
I'm currently looking to buy mics to run line-in with my JB3 and wondered what folks would suggest in the $300-$350 range.
Mostly taping in small venues and not auditorium settings.
I really need something that will work straight line-in (without a preamp). The little Core Sound cardiods I've borrowed to tape a couple of shows just don't give me the db levels I need.  :(
I also want to ensure any mics I buy will be good in the future once I save up enough cash to purchase a preamp/A-D to go with the whole package.

Thanks,
Tim (newbie)

In the open. I usually walk to the bar for refills to often to worry about staying put for stealthing. But I also don't want a huge mic set to attract the bevy of assholes looking to scream into it either (I don't look tough enough to scare them away).

you cant go wrong with CMC-8s, CMC-16's maybe?

I run CMC-8s > spsb-3 > jukebox, and sounds great.  need to boost a bit after quieter shows, but it sounds clean after the boost.  i am guessing other people can give you more expensive ideas, i cannot.  but hey, its my 2 cents.
