what types of windscreens do you use outside? im sure the length of the caps/active heads vary beetween all the mics we use with the kwon bar, but id like to get an idea

it seems that my big ass dpa's wont really slide all the way down on the capsule, the hole is too long.

should i be worried about the dead air inside the screen?

no, don't sweat it...

actually when using those dpa screens I was always told to push them down on the cap and then pull them back off a bit to create a little room between the cap and the screen. ran them that way for about 4 years with akg's and neumann's.

EScott agrees with me... I was shown this by Nutter, Jerry Meyer, and Steve Brothers.. all pros :)

I have run my DPA screens with the actives on the kwon bar, never had an issue with sound quality

Same situation with the Neumanns...the DPA screens won't slid all the way down on those either. Used the Kwon Bar 5 or 6 times now though, with no problems at all.
