cheap SP mic
« on: April 16, 2005, 06:07:26 PM »
So I am thinking I will get this to tape sarah mclachlan with in May--I am gongi to 5 shows.

http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-BMC-2

I am not looking to spend a lot of money and I realize that will effect the quality of my recording, but I am new to this, and this will be my real first attempt at taping.  Not to mention I am tight on money.

I was going to get a Sony mic, but was hearing mixed reviews so I backed out on that one.
Is this mic ok for a newbie to use on a very low budget?

I have the BMC3 (basically the same microphone) and they sound very nice.

Can't go wrong for 60$
Comapred to their competition (LC CSBs/Squid omnis) they sound worlds better i think.

I can send you a sample of one of my tapes later in the week after theyre transfered.
There's also a real nice Depeche Mode sample on the SP page .... and yes, they really do sound that good.

oh good!

Do you have the clips also?  I didnt get them, forgot to order them....

Is there a way to buy them elsewhere just for the time being?

Sure, send me a clip, I would love to hear!  Do you use a battery box too?
