Is this different than Digital Audio Tape?  Does it make a difference?

Hi,

I have been using data tapes here in the UK with my portable DAT (Sony TCD-D100) with no problems. For longer recordings I use the DG90P tapes. - Some people do not recommend them. Personally I think they are OK and after seven years have yet to encounter an issue.

More on this subject can be found here http://www.tape.com/techinfo/90mtr.html

I hope this helps.
