Looks like HD-DVD gets out there first in the last week of March and Blu Ray comes out in June.  I, for one, am eager to see this develop.

After watching last week's "60 minutes", Sony NEEDS Blu-Ray to be the winner.  If not, a major setback for the company on all 4 of its corners...........   :o

I'm voting for Blu-Ray!

Looks like the porn industry is too.  Better format, better future, less interference from DRM people

Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

entendre ?

Or do you mean pun intended?  Seriously though, with Beta vs. VHS, the adult industry chose VHS and look what happened with that.  The adult industry also adopted dvd's early on and look at how well they've done with that format as well.  Unlike the rest of the film community, the adult industry has been doing banging...err...booming business.

One thing that the porn industry started with DVD was the multiple angle feature.  I was hoping that more DVD would have this feature.  Especially concert DVD and the like.  How cool would it be to be able to watch a concert and pick with musician you want to watch.  Ahh well maybe they'll do it with Blu-Ray

Yup - I've heard this before.  By entendre I mean "come" and "on top".  We are prolly saying the same thing.

selfish concern -- isn't blue-ray designed to not be readable/writable on computers and isn't HD-DVD designed to be a computer-friendly media?

I would sure hate to have the powers that be preclude me from using a 50gb per disk storage medium . . . .

Check out the following!  I'm all for either to make it.  It will still be a long time though.  Not as breakthrough as CD or DVD was.

Hopefully one of these formats catches on and it isn't a repeat of the SACD / DVD-A competition.
