Things may have changed since then but when I was looking it was just DPA.

Do most folks have matched pairs? If I buy two from someone like B&H, I wonder how close the serial numbers will be.

If I can suggest, try calling Full Compass and see what they'd do for you deal wise as well as trying to track down consecutive serial numbers for you. I've always had a you get whats on the shelf experiences with B&H. Not that that is a bad thing I just can't see some warehouse guy looking at serial numbers for a customer. Maybe though.
when spending this kind of money, I would require that the mics be factory matched, but that is just me, this kit would cost around $4000 I will bet
It came with a slew of stuff I know I would never use. With the 4023's you can run them in all the schoeps kwon bars and run them in a vark bar as well.

The standards at the factory are such that it wasn't worth doing this anymore. You may require it but it wouldn't surprise me if most of these high end companies just were not doing it anymore.
just bought a 3523 stereo kit for $2999 from Sweetwave.
the stereo kits are matched stereo pairs, in a kit box, w/ multiple extra accessories.
So when deciding b/t the 4023 and the others w/ attached cable, what are the pros and cons for those that have used them a lot?
