DVD Burning ?
« on: May 10, 2004, 08:34:42 PM »
I am trying to burn from my DVD drive to burner.  When I add the TS file through NERO, I pretty much run out of memory when "adding".  Does it transfer the files to the hard drive 1st and then burn?  If so, I'm screwed with limited HD drive space.  Would it do me any good to add an external hard drive to my laptop or would the same problem occur?  Thanks.

In Nero 6 under DVD Copy, there's an option to do "On-the-fly"

I believe that eliminates the copying to your harddrive process.  It'll write as it reads, which may or may not be prone to errors, but is not standard practice.

just to let you know
dvd movies that hollywood puts out are usually double layer (up to 8 gigs i think)
normal dvd burners cant burn one movie onto one cd. (up to 4.5 gigs)
they have to split it onto two or compress it or rip out some of the content to fit.
only now (like within the last week) have they come out with dual layered burners. media's still expensive and it's 500 megs short of the hollywood capacity.
word.
