The new PMD661...Supposed to have a good digital input, too (see PMD661 thread).

not sure if you are looking for corrections or not but the JB3 has no SPDIF only optical.

S/PDIF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPDIF) is just a protocol. It can be transmitted electrically over wire, or optically through fiber optics.  So flintstone's listing is correct -- JB3 supports optical S/PDIF.

Oops, I was thinking CoAx (electrical).  Thanks for the clarification...

Bri is right on, I was just about to post the wikipedia URL.
To clarify things, it's more descriptive to call it "S/PDIF coax" rather than "electrical", since most of the official specs use that term.
Also, "electric" AES/EBU is a redundant term, since AES/EBU is always transferred that way. Read the wikipedia entry above...

Anyway, great initiative Flintstone! A small remark:
You have an overlap between $300 and $200, is that intentional?

IRiver H120, H140
optical SPDIF

Don't forget the precursors H110/H115, they are easily forgotten since they sold in small numbers and mostly overseas only. But since the CF mod came around, these machines can be given a second life...
