I have used NJB3's for years but 'upgraded' to the DR-44WL recently. The WIFI control from my phone has proven a real benefit. I have taped a couple of shows at outdoor venues and have had no trouble with wind noise using the provided foam muff. I have found the reproduction using the on board mics to be quite good, very low noise, good separation. I have not used my phantom powered mics yet but expect good results.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this recorder. I picked this one up new for $209 on a daily sale at BuyDig. I think this remote feature sets this unit apart from anything available in this price range.

You'll see from the 22-WL thread that there's a little experience here with that device, and with the control app which is common to both models. My view of the 22-WL is that what sets it apart is the wireless control facility and your post seems to echo that in respect of the more sophisticated device.
