dvd decrypter will leave you with a VIDEO_TS folder that you can burn in Nero, I believe.

When copying some concert video DVDs, I used dvd-decryptor to copy the image to my HD, then write the image back out to the DVD burner.

I don't think that you need to take the file structure out of the image unless you plan to alter the content.  If you want to alter the content (recode to lower datarate, extract parts, etc), then use dvd-decryptor to extract the file structure from the DVD to your HD.  You can then do what you want with the content.  Burning is then a matter of either creating an image ( I use imgtool) and writing that image to dvd, or using some program that can burn directly from the file structure.

edit:  BTW, why use nero?  If you just want to copy the image, dvd-decryptor will do it all.

DeCrypter can save to either video/audio ts folders or an iso image. You can author either of these 2 in nero. After you select the backup button, it should show a pop-up asking for you to choose the directory and you should have the option to rip to an iso or video/audio ts folders. Shrink can handle either format, so use whatever you are most comfortable with.

Edit: Of course, Shrink will only be used in this instance if you need to compress the image, since decryptor will be doing all the work.

well, i want to copy a disc that dvd shrink wont work on, so im gonna copy that to the HD, then burn to nero to put onto dvd for easier viewing

i think i need to make an IFO file, im gonna try em all and see what works so ill let ya'll know what hapopens

i dont see a 'backup' button in dvd decryptor ???

i think if i burn it as a plain old 'file' in dvd decryptor it will burn to dvd just fine like dvd shrink does, because i checked out a folder of what dvd shrink does and i think im on the right track finally

the problem w/ making an ISO image is: its 8.5 GB, it wont open in dvd shrink to re-author, and i cant put that onto a dvd5, its only 4.7GB :-\

i dont see a 'backup' button in dvd decryptor ???

in the menu bar of dvd-decrypter, select the mode.  For image, use ISO>Read
then click the dialog picture DVD->HD and watch it go.

to write, select mode>iso>write
click the DVD->HD picture

It's been a while since I've used either of these. Can't you also take out the trailer,extra audio options,foreign languages, etc. so that the disk doesn't have to be shrunk as much thus reducing quality?

burn with nero as a DVD-video
