Why didn't the late arrivers clamp? 

Is that the VP88 in the middle?

If you look at the first photo the section was from pillar to pillar...literally about 10 feet.  I count 11 in the first shot there were a total of at least 15 by the start of the show......

The Second shot was actually the stand JD brought...JD(Gefell), Myself(MBHO), Kush(AKG), and Tom(Neumann) were all clamped to it.....The stand is a modified S15A from Shure.  The legs were drilled out and filled with lead or something...its heavy as hell, it could clear out a row of wooks with one swing....and its sturdy as a MOFO.....it was even taped to the floor before it became a complete mess.....The building could of come down but that stand would have stood strong....

and to answer Lastubbe......The late arrive-rs didn't clamp because they either didn't own one or were totally unprepared (probably both) ....Hence the reason I started the thread...it was ridiculous....and to answer your second question, Yep I and saw at least 2 vp-88's....

Yes, the VP88 is mine I recorded the mid-side outputs directly for more flexibility by stereo matrix'ing in post.  The second one was Furthur's sound guy who has been running a VP88 at the shows which he mixes in with the sound board recordings that they are selling of the shows.

My stand was securely taped down in front row of the tapers section and had clamp space available.
