I was using a radioshack mic  :P It did the job in a few selected places usually big in size.  But what can I use to record the small clubs and even on to bigger places with.....\

i ahve AT853's that are small and record real good quality

check out http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category/120  and also get a battery box with bass roll off

you can remove some extra bass and make it sound a lil better but messing around with equalizers on the computer after the show

get a preamp too if your minidisc cant adjust recording levels
