what's the best mic for low-noise recording?
« on: July 24, 2004, 06:36:30 PM »
i'm looking to take a mic around on trips with me to record ambient sounds, daily stuff, etc., so i need a microphone that will pick up really faint sounds clearly, but i don't want to lug a huge piece of equipment around all day.  What do you think the best small-diaphram condenser mic for this type situation would be?  let's just assume that i have an infinite budget (i'm just looking for now anyway...)

thanks!

depends how far you are from the source, a shotgun could be good if you are way far away, but if it were up to me id use the dpas
